Billy Wilder makes pointed films that consistently surprise me with the way they tackle issues that are still so relevant I have trouble believing they actually came out when they did. Some Like It Hot is a perfect example of this. It creeped its way on to my list of favorite movies and I frequently wonder whether a movie made today would depict the dynamics between men and women and men pretending to be women with so little stereotyping, so much complexity, and so much ease. And then I remember that Work It was a thing (even if only for two episodes) and realize that obviously the answer is no.
